Beta Sigma Chapter at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

LEADERS OF THE LATINO GREEK MOVEMENT
The mission of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. is to establish a brotherhood, to establish and maintain a high standard of learning, to raise the standard of morality and develop character, to respect culture and practice chivalry, and to promote the spirit of man's dignity and self-identity.
"CHIVALRY ABOVE SELF"
With many brothers at the Beta Sigma Chapter identifying as first-generation students, we understand how some may feel as if their voices are undermined at an institution with thousands of students. We focus on empowering underrepresented student voices at UIUC through events, such as our 'Browntables' discussions and rallies. We also emphasize community impact through community service events and continued support for the efforts of other organizations in the Champaign-Urbana area. Our drive to positively impact others motivates us to continue these efforts to this day.

THE COLUMNS OF CONVERGENCE
The Beta Sigma Chapter of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. was founded at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) by nine gentlemen on January 17th, 2004. Ever since, the Lambdas have focused on creating a foundation for future generations of Latino students to make a difference through activism, education, and community service. As we approach our 19th year at UIUC, we reminisce and celebrate the commitment of our chapter in creating a difference for the greater Champaign-Urbana area.
LA FUERZA SCHOLARSHIP
We, the Lambdas at the Beta Sigma Chapter, understand how the financial weight of attending a four-year institution. We are dedicated to helping students through any means possible. La Fuerza Scholarship was created to improve the feasibility of higher education at UIUC. We provide scholarships on a yearly basis to incoming and current freshmen to provide additional financial support. Through this effort, we hope to help people successfully work towards their goals throughout their college careers and on.
